BWW speaks to Margaret Thatcher ahead of her new Edinburgh Fringe show MARGARET THATCHER QUEEN OF GAME SHOWS.

Maggie! What have you been up to since we spoke at the 2014 festival?

I've been very busy successfully rigging a referendum, dear! It's gone awfully well, we're out of Europe, Scotland are still with us (so far) and I've only crashed the economy once. Also, I've toured the whole of the UK with my show, performed for two sell out weeks at the Leicester Square Theatre in London and even taken it to Australia!

What have you got in store for us this year?

I'm doing a game show, dears! I looked at the appalling state of Saturday night television and I thought, "I could do that." I'm making people compete for their benefits and if they're lucky they might win the coveted Golden Giro Cheque. And I know, you may think it's Pointless, but the Price Was Right, I Asked the Family and they said if I Play My Cards Right this could be my Big Break!

The previous two years you've spent a lot of time mingling with your public around the festival - doesn't it get tiring?

As a politician I'm used to meeting people from all walks of life on a daily basis. The trick is, dear, to smile, nod and not listen to a word they say. I'm not looking forward to reacquainting myself with the streets of Edinburgh though, cobbles and heels don't mix!

Your musical performances were a highlight of the previous show for me - will we be treated to more of these?

Oh of course, dear! What can I say, dear? The country wants more of Maggie, and this time there are no backstabbing backbenchers to stop me! Although I won't be performing the Beyonce medley - my hips can't take it.

Are there any other performances you're hoping to catch at this year's festival?

I'll be watching Weirdos Comedy Club's production of Harry Potter and the Disappointing Aftermath, dear. I hear the actor playing Ron Weasley looks a lot like me? Aside from that, I'll be sure not to miss Tom Allen's new show Indeed and How to Win at History by Seiriol Davies.
