The Dramatists Guild of America announces the continuation of their popular DuoLogues seminar series with a conversation between celebrated playwrights Peter Shaffer and John Guare, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 5:30 p.m., at the Dramatists Guild's Frederick Loewe Room, 1501 Broadway (between 43rd and 44th Streets), Suite 710. This seminar is free to Dramatists Guild members (must present Guild membership card at the door), and $10 cash at the door to the general public, but reservations are required. To enter the building at 1501 Broadway, you will need to present photo ID.

John Guare will guide the conversation, asking Peter Shaffer about the rigor, rewards and beauty of a life in the theater. This promises to be a fascinating evening. These talented and imaginative writers will also take audience questions at the end of the event.

Peter Shaffer is currently represented on Broadway with the revival of Equus. His other plays include Five Finger Exercise, The RoyAl Hunt of the Sun, Black Comedy, Amadeus, Lettice and Lovage, Gift of the Gorgon and Yonadab.

Council member John Guare will premiere his new play, A Free Man of Color, directed by George C. Wolfe, at the Public Theater this winter. His other plays include House of Blue Leaves, Six Degrees of Separation, Landscape of the Body, Bosoms and Neglect and the musicals Sweet Smell of Success and Two Gentlemen of Verona.
