Sony BMI Workshop composers Michael Shapiro & Dave Christensen have announced their New York debut concert at 54 Below.

Best known for their work Cookies - the sordid story of an underground girl- scout-cookie Ponzi scheme, the pair have created a hilarious and eclectic body of work, establishing their niche through looking at unique groups of people from lumberjacks to computer game nerds, to of course, girl scouts.

Remy Zaken (Spring Awakening) will return to her work on Cookies, alongside Laura Dreyfuss (Once) and Alex Frohlinger (Soul Doctor). Monet Sabel (Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band) will also join the cast with Alex Brightman (Wicked, Big Fish), Krista Pioppi (Spring Awakening), Kasie Gasparini (I Could Use a Drink), Trent Mills and Katie Emerson.

Fellow composer Drew Gasparini will also take to the stage explaining, "Shapiro and Christensen are absolutely my favorite new theater writing team. The smartest collaborators on the scene since Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The reason they are a great team is because they never struggle with ideas. Never a draught. They always surprise the audience. Those creative assholes."

Completing the team, Charlie Rosen (One Man Two Guvnors, Make Me Bad) will musically directing the show produced by Daniel Benge of The Benge Group.

The songs of Shapiro & Christensen is set for 54 Below tonight, February 11, 2014 at 9:30pm. Tickets $25. For more information, visit www.54below.com.
