?Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) will present Academy Award-nominated actor Chazz Palminteri in his critically acclaimed one man performance, "A Bronx Tale," on Sunday, March 8, at 3 p.m. Ticket proceeds benefit the Patchogue Knights of Columbus Council #725.

After a successful run on Broadway and a limited engagement at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Chazz Palminteri brings his critically acclaimed autobiographical play to Patchogue Theatre. "A Bronx Tale" is a classic coming of age story that comes to life in the form of a one man show.

The Bronx native and Academy Award-nominated actor portrays 18 characters in this astounding must-see performance.

Stephen Holden of The New York Times declares, "A Bronx Tale is a good yarn, a vivid true story," while Jerry Tallmer from the New York Post calls it, "Brilliant! Stunning, seething theater!"

Palminteri originally wrote the script for the stage and performed the show solo in Los Angeles. "A Bronx Tale" instantly became one of the hottest productions since "Rocky." Palminteri was offered over a million dollars to walk away from the project and with $200.00 left in the bank he refused. He wanted to play Sonny and write the screenplay. One night Robert De Niro walked in to see the show and as they say "the rest is history." Palminteri then moved the production to New York, where it played for four sold-out months and earned him nominations for the New York Outer Critics Circle for both acting and writing. While in New York he completed the screenplay of "A Bronx Tale" and soon found himself starring opposite Robert De Niro, who chose the script for his directorial debut. In 2014, the film celebrated its 20th anniversary.

With more than 50 films to his credit, Chazz Palminteri has starred in "The Usual Suspects," "Bullets Over Broadway" (Academy Award nomination), "Analyze This," "Hurlyburly," and "Mulholland Falls." Palminteri has also directed an episode of the HBO hit series "Oz", Showtime's "Women vs. Men" and the feature film "Noel," starring Susan Sarandon, Penelope Cruz, Robin Williams and Paul Walker. He appeared on the New York stage in the play "The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui" appearing aside Al Pacino, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi and Billy Crudup. Chazz is a member of the Actors Studio in NYC.
