The CSULB Department of Theatre Arts and its graduate production arm, the LA Drama Critics Choice Award-winning California Repertory Company (Cal Rep) have selected and announced the 2015-2016 season of productions, all of which will be performed in theatrical venues on the California State University Long Beach campus. California Repertory performances will move from the Royal Theatre aboard the Queen Mary and return to the University and Studio Theaters, located on the southeast corner of CSULB. The Cal Rep and University Players season runs September 25, 2015 through May 7, 2016, and includes three new works and a musical. Dates and details for the full season are included at the end of this release.

Anne D'Zmura, the Head of Directing at the CSULB Theatre Arts Department, says "We are very excited to be bringing all of our productions home to the campus this fall. We welcome everyone back to our three theatre complex to celebrate and experience our Cal Rep and University Players productions."

California Repertory Company, performing in both the University Theatre and the Studio Theatre, will open the 2015-2016 season with S/He & Me: A Theatrical Cabaret, written by and starring Alexandra Billings and directed by Joanne Gordon, followed by Caryl Churchill's drama Far Away, directed by Trevor Biship. The California Repertory Company will close their season with Nancy Bell and Peter Grandbois' Mutual Consent, directed by Anne D'Zmura.

The University Players will start their season with Shakespeare In The Raw: Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare and directed by Rob Clare, followed by EPIC: #ethnocentricCRAP, directed by Anna Steers. Their spring season starts with Rent, written by Jonathan Larson and directed by Joanne Gordon, followed by Jorge Ignacio Cortiñas's Bird In The Hand, directed by Shanti Pillai, with the final production being A Cool Dip In The Barren Saharan Crick, written by Kia Corthron and directed by Jaye Austin Williams.

The return to the University Theatre offers increased seating and expanded accessibility for Cal Rep audiences. Other advantages include reduced parking costs and convenient access to freeways. The University Theatre has recently been equipped with updated lighting and sound equipment, newer seats, and a lobby upgrade. Previous California Repertory Company performance venues include the Edison Theatre and the Long Beach Armory. The University Theatre provides more than 200 additional seats than the Royal Theatre offered.
