Day #2:

Tuesday in LA! What to do what to do... Hmmm.... Let me look at my calendar since I plan my days weeks in advance! Today: Tea with Jane Carr (who was the original Mrs. Brill in the Broadway cast of Poppins) then gym and then a show at 7:30...

So I headed up to the some hilly windy roads to have some lovely tea with my friend Jane, whom I hadn't seen in four years. That's the beauty of touring life, you get to go to cities where your friends are now living and see people who you haven't seen in ages! I try to explore and see as many things as I can in each city, and I know it's hard to keep in touch with friends and people that you don't see every day, but with the technology we have these days! I mean, I can keep in touch with 1,577 friends on Facebook, so it can't be that hard to see people in the cities I visit! HA! Yesterday I was saying how we needed to get off our computers to connect with people, and today I'm saying how it's a great way to keep in touch. You know what? A healthy balance of both is good for everyone.

When I was 16 I won a scholarship at The Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles and so I came to LA for three months for the summer of '97 to take dance classes and live in LA. Over the last 15 years I've come back to LA and taken classes at The Edge. My last time was four years ago when I had one day here (I was doing Dancing in the Dark in San Diego) and drove up to take a class and see friends. I've already taken a couple of classes since I've been here, but today I went and saw some of the teachers that had brought me here 15 years ago and they hadn't changed a bit! And they remembered me. Bill Prudich (one of the owners of The Edge) actually came and saw Mary Poppins last week and sent me a message on Facebook (yes I know, it's great!) and so I told him I would come and say hi.

After that I went to the gym where I did some weight training and some cardio to warm up for the show, grabbed a shake and a sandwich and headed to the theatre where the audience was loud and cheering and amazing tonight! It does help that I had a bunch of friends in the audience, so it made the night that much special.

Now I'm back home, enjoying a glass of red wine and some cheese before watching Breaking Bad... I LOVE THAT SHOW!! Ok, goodnight readers (or when you read this, good morning!)

Cheers,
Nicolas
