Atlanta Lyric Theatre presents the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime April 12 - 28, 2013 at The Earl Smith Strand Theatre (117 N. Park Square, Marietta). For reservations, visit www.AtlantaLyricTheatre.com or call 404-377-9948.

Based on E.L. Doctorow's award-winning book, Ragtime is a powerful portrait of life in turn-of-the-century America with a rich score full of Joplin-esque music. The musical intertwines the stories of three extraordinary families-that of a stifled suburban mother, an inventive Jewish immigrant, and a daring young Harlem musician-as they confront history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America. Their compelling stories intertwine to form a rich tapestry of hopes and dreams, struggles and triumphs, rhythm and rhyme-set to an epic, Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens. Historic figures such as Henry Ford, Harry Houdini, and J.P. Morgan interact with fictional characters all united by their courage, compassion, and belief in the promise of the future. Time Magazine calls it "a triumph for the stage" and the International Herald Tribune says Ragtime is "the best musical in twenty years."

Ragtime stars Kevin Harry, Jeanette Illidge, Ingrid Cole, Bryant Smith, Christy Baggett, Lyndsay Ricketson, Matthew Kacergis, Stanley Allyn Owen, Kayce Grogan-Wallace, Jevares Myrick, Robert Wayne, George Deavours, Daniel Burns, Ian Blanco, Evan Weisman, Becca Potter, Kathryn David, Monte' J.
