Jessica Lada

Jessica Lada

Jessica Lada is a Wichita-based writer, artist, and musician. She has worked as a writer and editor since 2011 and holds a BA in Journalism and a Master of Professional Writing from the University of Oklahoma.

Jessica has been involved in theater for much of her life, most often behind the scenes—in the paint shop, the orchestra pit, and backstage. As a longtime French horn player, she has performed for musicals and operas throughout Kansas and Oklahoma, including Pal Joey, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Julio Cesare, and La Traviata. She has also painted scenery for Music Theater Wichita, Roxy's Downtown, and Wichita Grand Opera, among others. Basically, she has found a way to be involved in nearly every part of a production except acting.

Jessica is currently pursuing an MFA in Studio Art at Wichita State University, where she teaches beginning ceramics. Her love of theater, music, writing, and visual art gives her a particular appreciation for how all the different elements of a show come together on both sides of the curtain.
