London-based Italian pianist and composer Alberto Giurioli performs music from his latest album Home in the Elgar Room as part of our Steinway Piano Series. Born in Badia Polesine, Italy, Alberto studied composition at the Conservatorio di Musica Francesco Venezze in Rovigo, where he explored fusion of classical and electronic music, discovering his voice in the neo-classical genre, while also developing his own compositional style, incorporating guitar, bass, drums, and piano, and playing in various rock and metal bands. In 2011, Alberto toured Italy with the cover band Cialis Angels and composed for RAI, LA7, and Deejay TV. He also worked with author Dacia Maraini on her play Stravaganza. After moving to London in 2015, he collaborated with orchestrator Geoff Lawson, refining his Neo-classical skills. Alberto has performed at Sofar Sound and partnered with Classic FM for several events, including a performance at Steinway Hall. His track Tutto E’ Bellissimo debuted on Classic FM, charting in the UK and Spain. His 2018 single Nightfall also topped charts and was featured on BBC and BT Sport. In 2019, he recorded four tracks at BBC's Maida Vale studio, aired during an interview with Janice Long.
