Miriam Grant is a music scholar at Guildford High School, currently studying for her A-levels. Miriam started learning the violin at the age of six, studying with Natasha Boyarsky and then with Lutsia Ibragimova and Alison Rhind. She has been a student at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music since 2019. This season Miriam has given performances of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto both with her school orchestra and the Horsham Symphony Orchestra, and has given a solo recital at Breinton in Surrey.
Justin Li began his musical studies in Hong Kong where he established the foundations of piano technique. Upon his relocation to London, he joined the RCMJD where he has studied with various professors, each helping to add more layers of technical and musical understanding. Justin currently studies with Andrew Zolinsky and his favourite genre of piano music comes from the romantic era, especially Chopin and Rachmaninoff.
Jacqueline Yang has studied the cello at the RCMJD since the age of 10 with Alexander Boyarsky. She was winner of the Barbara Boissard concerto competition (2023), performing Dvorak’s Cello Concerto with orchestra, and was highly commended in the Gordon Turner Competition (2025). Jacqueline has attended many festivals abroad and was the principal cellist of the Young Artist Orchestra at Boston University Tanglewood Institute and World Youth Symphony Orchestra at the Interlochen Arts Camp.
