The Swedish producers behind the Richard III rockopera - Richard Rocks - have postponed its London premiere to 2016.

Featuring cutting edge lighting, sound design, video and computer animation, Richard Rocks was announced to open for a five-week season from October 3 in the 770-seat Great Hall of The People's Palace, in the East End. Press night was going to be Wednesday 7 October.

Viper Island Productions say they will instead present a concert version of the production, featuring the former Nightwish singer, Anette Olzon. A new venue will be announced at a later date.

Richard Rocks, with 35 original songs and a cast of 28, is inspired by Shakespeare's Richard III and by Al Pacino's 1996 film, Looking for Richard. It has music by Peter Robsahm, a book by Maria Robsahm.
