American Apparitions is a self-guided immersive Psychogeographies Project created by Randy Baker, Kylos Brannon, Jenny McConnell Frederick, and Jonelle Walker. Each month, subscribers receive a map and a box of artifacts including letters, music, souvenirs, and photos, and travel to a curated location in the DC area to explore a new chapter in an ongoing story about the ghosts, divinations, and delusions of a country on its milestone anniversary. The project revives long-dead Americans whose presence continues to vibrate through Washington DC, engaging all five senses through immersive storytelling. Participants can experience each chapter in person throughout DC or via an at-home video alternative.
