Serenbe Playhouse is pleased to present TITANIC: THE MUSICAL, Directed by Brian Clowdus. Get a first look at the cast below!

The show begins July 11th and runs to August 12th. TITANIC: THE MUSICAL will be produced at The Inn Lake at Serenbe.

To find a better life, we must get on that ship... board our ship of dreams this summer as we mount a larger than life floating world full of magical impossibilities. An ensemble cast of 40 Serenbe Playhouse favorites and Atlanta all-stars will board a four-story structure representing the largest and fastest ship of its time: Titanic, constructed in the middle of a lake which will be submerged nightly. Honor will be paid to those who boarded this ill-fated voyage as we celebrate their stories of hope, heartbreak, and strength. Godspeed Titanic, Sail On!

When Titanic first bowed on Broadway in 1997, it won 5 Tony Awards, including the coveted Best Musical Award. Serenbe Playhouse is thrilled to bring this large-scale musical to new life in a way it has never been seen before - on the water! Featuring our largest cast and scenic design to date, be sure to join us for the theatrical event of the season!

FROM DIRECTOR Brian Clowdus

"Serenbe Playhouse has been waiting for this moment since its inception nine years ago. It's in moments like this I reflect back on our first season when we were literally doing skits in the woods with a bench, a cast of 4, and an audience seating 40 (on a good night!). Now here we are sinking a 4-story ship, with a cast of 40 and audiences of 400 nightly... but as far as I am concerned, we are still just doing skits in the woods. We have maintained this sense of play since day one, and although things feel very grown up all of a sudden, I still feel like a kiddo catching fireflies on the bank and hope that our audience feels the same way. So, enter into the world of Titanic and see one the world's most iconic stories in an immersive, larger than life scale where the only thing bigger than the cast and the set is the heart of this story we are creating!"

SCENIC DESIGNER Adam Koch ON HIS DESIGN INSPIRATION

"Music, size, and drama! The musical world of the score has (for me) all the information and inspiration about the visuals of the play. The incomprehensible size and grandeur of the Titanic is another of its defining characteristics. I knew it would be important to create the largest structure possible. Good design, much like good acting, has to be both completely believable/ recognizable but also completely unexpected. The biggest challenge has been considering all the imaginative information the audience has about Titanic coming in. Then blending all those memories with a stage design and a production that is visually surprising as well as emotionally familiar!"
