“SNOW WHITE & THE SEVEN DWARFS” at The Dorset Playhouse

The Dorset Players’ annual production for children and all those young at heart will be a delightful musical version of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Performances at the Dorset Playhouse at 104 Cheney Road in Dorset, Vermont will be held on December 7 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and on December 8, 9, 15 and 16  at 2:00 p.m.

The Dorset Players are happy to once again present a musical rendering of a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.  Carol Weiss’s wonderful adaptation of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” involves a powerful witch, a vain, jealous queen and her toadies, ladies-in-waiting, a magic mirror, the princess Snow White and her handsome prince, and, of course, seven dwarfs who help to save the day.

Director Kevin O’Toole and Musical Director Michael Gallagher have marshaled a talented cast of six adults and eleven children from eight area towns.  There are charming songs, colorful costumes, many laughs, and a happy ending for everyone. Well, almost everyone.

The cast includes Billy Jamieson as Sir Pompous, Courtney Carter as the Queen, and Lillian Kelly as the Mirror.  All were featured in last season’s musical: “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”  The Queen’s somewhat ditsy sibling, Witch Wicked, will be portrayed by Jennifer Lalli.  The Queen’s hapless stooges, Sir Silly and Sir Clumsy, played by Luca Bowen and Luke McChesney, provide slapstick comedic relief. Snow White and her dream prince will be played by Lily Gallagher and Aiden Kennedy.

Elizabeth Spurr, Siobhan O’Keefe and Grace McDonald appear as the Queen’s three ladies in waiting.  Rounding out the cast are the seven dwarfs, played by Isabel Mazzola, Molly Flint, Ryder Scott, Anabel Grattan, Penelope Kimball, Emma Daley and Camryn Monforte.

Presented by Factory Point Place, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is proudly sponsored by New Morning Natural Foods, The Bank of Bennington and Baierlein Landscaping.  For ticket information, call (802) 867-5577 or visit on-line at www.dorsetplayers.org.
