The Rise of European Music with La Fonte Musica at Christ Church Cathedral

Lute virtuoso Michele Pasotti and his ensemble La Fonte Musica join EMV for a concert charting the evolution of European music during the late 14th and 15th century, as the continent transitioned from the Medieval to Renaissance period.

The performance will include pieces by often overlooked Late-Tracento, and early Renaissance composers such as Antonio Zacara da Teramo, Matteo da Perugia, and Johannes Ciconia, who helped establish a long tradition of cultural exchange between the northern and southern parts of Europe that lent a new, international dimension to the music of the early 15th century.
