LAUGH YOUR SEXY ASS OFF!
Two different nights of world class comedy and burlesque on July 11th and 12th at Vancouver’s Rio Theatre featuring SCOTT THOMPSON of “The Kids In The Hall”.
The project was designed by co-creators Doug Thoms and Kirsten Hogan of Kitty Nights Burlesque fame as a modern-day re-imagining of the classic burlesque shows on the 1930’s and ‘40’s. “After producing our show for last September’s Vancouver Fringe Festival (Gypsy Rose Lee at Minsky’s Burlesque), we began thinking more about the formula of the classic burlesque show and how we could modernize that to speak to todays’ audiences”, says co-producer Burgundy Brixx. The two decided that a headlining comedian whose work spoke to modern burlesque sensibilities would be the perfect place to start, and Doug Thoms opened communications with Mr. Thompson’s offices. “We couldn’t be more thrilled that Scott is able to appear in this show” says Doug (also known to audiences as The Purrrfessor). “We think he’s a perfect fit!”

Well known to fans as a member of the famed Canadian sketch comedy troupe, The Kids in the Hall!
After being discovered by Lorne Michaels in 1987 while scouting for SNL, The Kids in the Hall went to have an HBO/CBC television series that ran from 1989 to 1995 in both Canada and the United States. After their television series finished in 1995, Scott and the boys went on to write and star in their own feature film "Brain Candy," which has become a cult favorite.
Thompson appeared as a regular on both the revolutionary comedy series The Larry Sanders Show and NBC's Providence and in 2001 produced and co-wrote the award winning Showtime documentary Uncle Saddam. He currently can be seen on NBC’s “Hannibal”. A much sought after talk show guest, Scott has made numerous appearances on such shows as Politically Incorrect, Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon. This past popular news satire show The Colbert Report sent Scott as his beloved character Buddy Cole off to Sochi to act as their Russian correspondent.

Along with VILLAINY LOVELESS, they have also all been recognized for their excellence by The Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. The evenings are rounded out by SPARKLE PLENTY (Friday only) and VILLAINY LOVELESS AND JUST CALL HER HEATHER (Saturday only) and will be hosted by DOUG THOMS (STOMP, Transsiberian Orchestra) aka THE PURRRFESSOR.
