Contra at The Dance Centre

Eric Cheung will premiere his first full-length trio, Contra, at The Dance Centre this September. The performance combines dance and technology, featuring dancers Kinui Oiwa and Tegvaran Sooch, alongside digital media artist Cristian Gonzalez and composer Matthew Tomkinson. Inspired by cognitive dissonance, Contra explores the human desire for transcendence and the complexities of self-meaning. The event marks a significant milestone for Cheung, who was honored with the Iris Garland Emerging Choreographer Award, celebrating his contributions to the contemporary dance scene in British Columbia.
