Deadline heeft gemeld dat Clint Dyer, adjunct artistiek directeur van het National Theatre in het VK, drie Amerikaanse toneelstukken in het VK zal regisseren, met volledig zwarte casts. De drie toneelstukken zijn 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest', 'The Story' en 'American Buffalo'.
'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' zal worden gepresenteerd in The Old Vic, met Michelle Gomez (Doctor Who, The Flight Attendant) als Nurse Ratched; Aaron Pierre (The Morning Show, The Underground Railroad) als Randle McMurphy; en Giles Terera (Death of England: Delroy, Hamilton) als Dale Harding.
De Londense première van 'The Story' zal worden gepresenteerd in de Olivier van 27 augustus tot en met 24 oktober. De cast zal bestaan uit Letitia Wright (Black Panther, Small Axe), Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black, The Equalizer), Ashley Thomas (Hostage, Top Boy), Wilf Scolding (Andor, Game of Thrones) en Jay Simpson (The Day of the Jackal, The Holiday).
'American Buffalo' hoopt in het late najaar op de West End te openen. Er moet nog één rol gecast worden voor het driemansstuk, zegt Dyer.
