Animée par le comédien Conan O'Brien, la cérémonie sera diffusée en direct sur ABC à 19h ET/16h PT depuis le Dolby Theatre à Ovation Hollywood et diffusée en direct sur Hulu. Sinners domine les nominations avec un record de 16 nominations, incluant Meilleur Film, Meilleur Réalisateur, Meilleur Scénario et 3 nominations d'acteurs. Cela a été suivi de près par One Battle After Another, qui a obtenu 13 nominations.
Les points forts de la liste des nominés finaux incluent Jessie Buckley, nominée pour la Meilleure Actrice pour sa performance émotive dans le rôle d'Agnes Shakespeare dans Hamnet.
