The mesmeric and dynamic Yamato drummers from Japan return to the UK with their new show ‘The Beat on the Road’. A thrilling performance of Japanese Taiko drumming, the Company has been touring the world for 20 years and has been seen by over 2 million people of all ageswho have been left breathless and exhilarated by this hi-energy, explosive show.
Yamato play Wadaiko drums that range from the size of a plate to over a metre in diameter, including the Odaiko drum, hewn from one huge tree over four hundred years old. The sheer physical strength and movement of the drummers is as impressive as the music, in this visually spectacular and highly entertaining show.
Yamato’s captivating music has both delicate beauty and heart thumping bass power and the drummers’ remarkable strength and skill defies belief.
