Directed by Antoni Cimolino in his final Shakespeare production before concluding his tenure at the Stratford Festival, The Tempest stars Geraint Wyn Davies as Prospero, a deposed duke who conjures a storm at sea to draw his betrayers within reach. What begins as a reckoning transforms into something more tender, as old grievances give way to reconciliation and a new generation discovers love unburdened by the past. The production features Jonathan Goad as Caliban, Marissa Orjalo as Ariel, Ashley Dingwell as Miranda, and Fiona Reid as Gonzala, among a large ensemble cast. Running May 25 through October 24 at the Festival Theatre, the production explores how freedom comes not through control, but through the courage to relinquish it.
