RUNAWAYS & CONVERSATIONS AT THE RETURN OF SPRING at VideoCabaret

Mermaid Parade presents a double bill in its North American premiere, exploring the ongoing damage caused by patriarchal systems and the unravelling of the natural world. In RUNAWAYS, five female fugitives from five different eras converge in a diner to share stories of fleeing male violence, featuring Laura Dae, Tristan Moore, Kayla Waawaase Brabant, Vanessa Whyte, Cameron Helmkay, and Astrid Van Wieren. In CONVERSATIONS AT THE RETURN OF SPRING, the Goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone, played by Astrid Van Wieren and Anya Swannie-Reynolds, reunite to confront environmental degradation and humanity's impact on the planet. Both plays are directed by Jon Michaelson, with set and lighting design by Graham Maxwell and sound design by Shaun McPherson.
