Citadel + Compagnie will spotlight Toronto’s next groundbreaking choreographers in the co-bill Alone Together, April 11-14, 2018, at The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance. Esteemed School of Toronto Dance Theatre alumni Naishi Wang and Jane-Alison McKinney will incite deep reflection on the space between chaos and calm in two moving solos. The world premiere of Wang’s Taking Breath will examine the fundamental act of breathing and its potential for communication and expression. With her powerful choreography in There she was (2017), McKinney will surrender to disorder, transforming frantic moments of turmoil into exquisite stillness that will have audiences mesmerized. Don’t miss this evening to discover two of Canada’s most promising emerging choreographers.
