Breathe In/ Breathe Out at Array Space

A 60-minute chamber work by composer and vocalist Clara Moniz exploring chronic illness, disability, and the experience of living and performing in a body that can be unpredictable. Four vocalists and a string quartet perform across ten movements exploring experiences in the medical system, grief, hope, and finding agency. The music treats body and voice as instruments, incorporating breath, vocal sounds, and speech alongside traditional singing and string playing. Performers include Lindsay McIntyre, Vivien Illion, Clara Moniz, Anika Venkatesh, Diane Kim, Aysel Taghi-Zada, Mobin Naeini, and Tomas Peña.
