by Katie Kirkpatrick - Dec 6, 2025
The last year or so have often been described online as London’s ‘lesbian renaissance’. Now adding to the sapphic canon is Jess Edwards’ Private View, a rom-com turned dark that explores codependency and opposition.

Review: DEAR YOUNG MONSTER, Soho Theatre
by Katie Kirkpatrick - Aug 11, 2025
Unusual and unflinching, Dear Young Monster delves into the parallels between the creation of Frankenstein’s Monster as a ‘man-made man’ and the experience of a trans coming of age. Playfully incorporating horror and the gothic, it’s a queer hidden gem of this summer’s theatre offerings.

Giant Steps is an hour-long improvisational show with a bit of a twist - it’s not just the comedians who are improvising! Along with the four performers, there is also a live jazz band on stage, improvising along with the actors based on suggestions from the audience.

Review: METROLAND LIVE: THE BOX, Soho Theatre
by Kat Mokrynski - Mar 31, 2025
Walking into Metroland LIVE: The Box, audience members are greeted by a gym instructor in bright pink gym shorts, who is encouraging everyone to remove their jackets as things are going to get hot in Soho Theatre Upstairs. The man (Caden Elliott) introduces himself as Cum McGroin and has the audience out of their seats doing hip thrusts to get warmed up for the hour ahead. And, just like that, “class is in session.”
Review: WHAT IF THEY ATE THE BABY?, Soho Theatre
by Kat Mokrynski - Mar 24, 2025
Walking into the Soho Theatre Upstairs for What If They Ate The Baby feels a bit like entering an alternate universe that’s a strange mix between the 1950s and the modern day. Audience members are greeted by a set made to look like a kitchen, with checkered floors, table and chairs and a window frame that’s tilted - an indicator that not everything is as perfect as one might think at first glance.

Review: MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY, Soho Theatre
by Kat Mokrynski - Mar 3, 2025
From the day she was born, Temi Wilkey has been destined to perform. This is made clear from her grand entrance into Soho Theatre Upstairs, dressed in a gorgeous and frilly red dressing gown that she slowly removes to reveal her bright pink outfit underneath as the audience cheers. Main Character Energy is “an autobiographical one woman show,” but it is also a “flamboyant parody” of the theatrical category at the same time. Being both writer and performer, Temi Wilkey truly becomes the main character of the night.
