Friends with the Write Stuff returns with its 3rd Annual Playwriting Festival at Theatre Tallahassee's Studio space on April 24-26, 2026, featuring staged readings, short play showcases, panel discussions, and networking events celebrating more than 20 playwrights from across Florida. The festival closes on Sunday, April 26 with a full-length reading of The Devouring and the Star, written by festival organizer Danielle Wirsansky. Throughout the weekend, full-length readings with talkbacks also include Broken by Michelle R. Nickens, Olivia's Fate by Bert A. Mitchell, and Pending Endings by Bev DeMello. A highlight of the festival is the Stage Write Challenge, in which participants receive a writing prompt, work overnight, and share their new pages in a reveal session the following day.
