$35 general admission, $30 seniors 65 and over, $25 full-time students w/ valid idWILDFIRE (Le Brasier) by Quebecois author David Paquet, translated by Leanna Brodie. This is a US premiere.Six fates, three fables, one family. Claudette, Claudia, Claudine, Carol, Callum, and Caroline have more in common than names that begin with C—they are haunted by a family history that unfolds across three generations—and then loops back … to the future. They do what they can to survive. Sometimes by baking cookies, sometimes by playing fantasy games, and sometimes by smashing a hammer into a TV.
WILDFIRE is a dark comedy with a spark – a family saga that follows three triplets, two lovers, and a single woman with a fatal attraction. Highly absurd and ferociously funny, WILDFIRE reminds us that sometimes it's the people we look right past who experience the most extraordinary fates.
Upstream Theater is proud to present the English-language premiere of the award-winning LE BRASIER by David Paquet, in a vibrant and visceral new translation by fellow Canadian Leanna Brodie.
Directed by Philip Boehm; Cast: Nancy Bell, Tom Wethington, Jane Paradise.
Sets by Michael Heil
