This script is the winner of the Trustus Playwrights' Festival, an annual competition that gives a full production to a new original work. (10/25/2013) - The National Tour of THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS, winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, will launch at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre this November. The tour, accompanied by a 23-piece orchestra, will begin performances Sunday, Nov. 10 with an official opening on Wednesday, Nov. 13. (06/05/2013) - This summer the Tony and Drama Desk award winning Ain't Misbehavin' returns to Trustus Theatre which premiered the show in Columbia during its second season. This toe-tapping revue of "Fats" Waller tunes will take theatre-goers on an entertaining journey through an evening in a 1930s Harlem night club where "night creatures" revel well into the early morning. This production, directed and choreographed by Trustus Company Member Terrance Henderson (Henderson Bros. Burlesque, Smokey Joe's Cafe), opens on the Thigpen Main Stage Friday, June 14th at 8:00pm. The show runs through July 20th, 2013. Tickets may be purchased at www.trustus.org.

What did these patients think was happening to them when doctors dispelled their so-called 'hysteria' with a very personal innovative machine? That's what award-winning playwright Sarah Ruhl wondered when she set out to write In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play - a brave Tony-nominated show that finds a home on the Trustus Main Stage this Spring. Under the direction of guest director Ellen Douglas Schlaefer, the show opens Friday, May 4th at 8:00pm, and runs through May 26th, 2012. Check out production photos below!

(08/29/2011) - On Saturday August 27, 2011, BroadwayWorld.com's CEO/Editor-in-Chief Robert Diamond, in the midst of Hurricane Irene married actress Jennifer Hallie Rosen after a 17 month engagement. The two were introduced by a friend of Rosen's, who wasn't able to make the wedding, as a result of the weather and warnings throughout all the boroughs. The BroadwayWorld.com News Desk stayed feverish all weekend while the couple said 'I Do', as news was coming fast about theatre cancellations, schedule changes and travel advisories in addition to all things that were happening in other parts of the country and the world, not affected by the Northeast's local weather.
