WAITING FOR RAIN at Artscape Theatre

With Jazzart celebrating its 40th anniversary, this presentation is premised on the symbolism of rain, as something that signals rebirth, new life and a release of artistic and emotional energy. The dancers perform to a combination of evocative and soulful live and recorded music composed by Tandile Mandela and Mthwakazi. Mandela is internationally acclaimed for her knowledge of traditional music and her ability to master a wide range of instruments. Mthwakazi, who is known for her ethereal, earthy vocals, has performed throughout South Africa, as well as in London and Paris.
