Cameron Mackintosh's Oliver!, presented by Pieter Toerien with Cape Town Opera, opens at TEATRO at Montecasino on January 29, 2027. Based on Charles Dickens' novel Oliver Twist, the musical features a score by Lionel Bart, including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, and As Long As He Needs Me. The production follows young orphan Oliver as he navigates the streets of Victorian London, encountering characters such as Fagin, Nancy, and the Artful Dodger. Directed by Steven Stead, the production features a South African cast and combines dynamic choreography with richly detailed costumes.
