Cape Town comedy legends David Isaacs and Oscar Petersen take us on yet another crazy journey into the heart of their community in Joe Barber VI – Life.
This mockumentary-styled episode takes a humorous look at community life and its progress in the light of celebrating 20 years of democracy. At the heart of the story, as the new head of the neighbourhood watch, Boeta Gamat experiences the ups and downs of trying to be a leader in his community and finds that even good intentions can easily lead to disaster. As usual, all the gossip and complaints end up in the barbershop for Boeta Joe to deal with.
To make matters worse, in a bid to expand her catering business Washiela is finally learning to drive, which means that the streets are no longer safe. Outjie is also in the mix and up to his own special mischief alongside some brand-new characters that add to this colourful tapestry that is the world of Joe’s Barbershop.
It is business as usual with non-stop laughter and a celebration of Cape Town culture, people and life itself.
Joe Barber, a Cape Town institution, is the city’s most successful and longest-running local comedy series and is directed by the multi-award-winning Heinrich Reisenhofer.
