The 3rd and final day of the 5th Indian Screenwriters Conference (ISC) concluded on a beautiful note as 3 living legends Gulzar, writers Javed Siddiqui (Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Zubiedaa) and Kamlesh Pandey (Tezaab, Rang De Basanti) paid heartfelt tributes to 3 late legends - lyricist Shailendra (Guide, Mera Naam Joker), writer Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza (Mahabharat) and writer-filmmaker K. A. Abbas (Saat Hindustani, Mera Naam Joker).

Audiences are in for an outrageously hilarious time as Geva Theatre Center presents A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum with a book by Bert Shevelove and Larry Gelbart and music and lyrics byStephen Sondheim and directed by Melissa Rain Anderson in the Elaine P. Coming off a historic 2013-14 seventh season, in which the company lead the Buffalo theater community with four Artie Awards for Theatrical Excellence and won its very first award for Best Musical Production, American Repertory Theater of WNY is proud to kick-off the 2014-15 season with a production of Michael John LaChiusa's HELLO AGAIN on September 11th and will run until October 4th. The University of Memphis recently welcomed the spirited Broadway and television actress Susan Blackwell as a guest artist. Her workshops, which centered on creative self-expression, were free and open to the public. I attended and found them exciting and worthwhile.

Started the day with a TV interview in Dallas. Ben and I were interviewed live on channel 8 at noon, a beautiful studio, and the interviewer was quite versed on the topic and the play, very enjoyable. Then friends of mine arrived at the airport from Oklahoma and California. We all went to a high end steakhouse (it's called Silver Fox… so I originally thought it was a strip club) and had a mini-reunion. Was great to have them at the show and we took a lot of photos and drove them both back to their hotels afterward. A very enjoyable day.

Digital Theatre is today (17 June 2013) delighted to announce its next release - Jonathan Harvey's landmark play, Beautiful Thing, captured live during its acclaimed West End run at the Arts Theatre in May 2013.

Pride Films and Plays presents the Chicago 20th anniversary production of Jonathan Harvey's acclaimed Beautiful Thing, the heartwarming story of two teenaged boys coming to grips with their sexuality. Director John Nasca directs a cast that includes PFP Artistic Ensemble Members Michelle McKenzie-Voigt and Patrick Rybarczyk as Sandra and Tony, with Robert Hilliard as Jamie, Charlie Wein as Ste, and Kiah McKirnan as Leah. How can Kritzerland make a Christmas show unusual and different? Well, you can either be exceedingly solemn and point the show in the 'Silent Night' direction, or pull out all the stops and run with the comedy. Kritzerland shows have one thing in common: they are never a drag. Bruce Kimmel sees to that whether Guy Haines is a guest or not. Solemn music? No, not in Kritzerland's nature! Fun, yes, always, as Kimmel's personality and anecdotes are full of the demon and amusingly interesting trivia about Broadway show tunes and Hollywood movie music. On Sunday December 2, at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal, Kimmel and his fine singers: Dan Callaway, Damon Kirsche, Emma Degerstedt, Lisa Livesay, Jane Noseworthy, and Jenna Rosen with very special guest star Bill Hayes, a 40 year veteran of Days of Our Lives, were on hand to present and celebrate Broadway, film and rock/pop holiday cheer. Lloyd Cooper served as musical director/accompanist extraordinaire throughout the 90-minute set that made up Kritzerland Records' Christmas with a Little Bit of Hannukah and a Lot of Cheer.
