Each bear is meticulously outfitted in original, costumes handmade by Broadway's leading designers. Last night, September 28, Green Day frontman and the musical's composer/ co-author Billie Joe Armstrong made his Broadway debut as 'St. Jimmy' at the St. James Theatre in AMERICAN IDIOT. Armstrong will perform through Sunday, October 3, 2010. Immediately following this engagement, Mr. Armstrong will join Green Day in Caracas, Venezuela on October 8, 2010 to kick off their South American Tour. Jordan Roth, President of Jujamcyn Theaters, launched a new season of his multi-evening conversation series, 'Broadway Talks,' at the 92nd Street Y with Grammy Award-winning vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day and Tony Award-winning Director Michael Mayer. Among other topics, Roth, Armstrong and Mayer discussed the current Broadway production of American Idiot, the new musical based on the landmark Green Day recording. Tony award-winning actress Lea Salonga ('Miss Saigon', 'Les Miserables') took time out to watch one of the most popular shows playing on Broadway Greenday's 'American Idiot' at St. James Theatre in New York City Wednesday evening, September 1, 2010. Ms. Salonga was accompanied by composer and lyricist Jay Kuo ('Worlds Apart', 'Insignificant Others'), who is also one of the associate producers of 'American Idiot'.

The best of Broadway was presented free on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 Lite fm Presents Broadway in Bryant Park 2010' - a lunchtime series which began on Thursday, July 8th at 12:30pm on the Bryant Park Stage and ended yesterday, August 12. The series, which just completed its 10 season, was sponsored by Bank of America and JCPenney 33rd & 6th, and washosted by Lite fm's on-air personalities.

Last week on April 20, 2010, Actor's Equity's David Westphal hosted the famed Gypsy Robe Ceremony for company members of AMERICAN IDIOT at the St. James Theatre. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES chorus member Dale Hensley turned over the robe to AMERICAN IDIOT cast member Andrew Call. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.
