Production photos of the new cast of AMERICAN IDIOT have been released! Davey Havok (lead vocalist of the American rock band AFI) has joined for a limited two week engagement as 'St. Jimmy.' In addition, Justin Guarini (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) will play the role of 'Will,' and current and original Broadway cast members Van Hughes and Libby Winters took over the roles of 'Johnny' and 'The Extraordinary Girl,' respectively on March 1, 2011.

OSCAR and GRAMMY Award winning rock star Melissa Etheridge will play the role of 'St. Jimmy' for a one-week engagement in AMERICAN IDIOT, February 1 - 6, 2011. Ms. Etheridge is one of the most iconic recording artists in the music industry. For the rest of the month, Green Day frontman and the musical's composer and co-author Billie Joe Armstrong will return to the role of 'St. Jimmy' and complete his 50 performance, limited engagement from February 10-27, 2011 at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street.

Green Day frontman and the musical's composer and co-author Billie Joe Armstrong returned to the role of 'St. Jimmy' in AMERICAN IDIOT for 50 performances beginning on January 1, 2011. Armstrong made a triumphant Broadway debut in a one week engagement last September and played to sold-out houses at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street. On January 8, 2011 cast and crew celebrated the show's 300th performance!

The smash-hit musical AMERICAN IDIOT presented 'American Idiot Gives Back', a day of special performances on Thursday, December 16 to benefit Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS. Free and open to the general public, the show's stars John Gallagher Jr., Stark Sands and Michael Esper will play a different selection of their Green Day favorites, Holiday classics and songs from AMERICAN IDIOT at each NYC location. Two Boots Pizza and MJS LIVE, Inc. are pleased to announce this month's A SLICE OF BROADWAY, a celebration of Broadway's finest at NY's Pizza Pioneers Two Boots Pizza devoted especially to Broadway's hit musical AMERICAN IDIOT. The 'tastiest pizza in Manhattan' (yelp.com) will honor the amazing cast of AMERICAN IDIOT with a specialty pizza offered this month at its Hell's Kitchen location. Cast members from AMERICAN IDIOT, now playing at The ST. JAMES THEATRE, will appear at Two Boots in their Theater District Neighborhood location to sample the new pizza. The new slice is called The St. Jimmy and features capicola, crawfish, roasted garlic, and a swirl of jalapeno pesto.

Last night, September 28, Green Day frontman and the musical's composer/ co-author Billie Joe Armstrong made his Broadway debut as 'St. Jimmy' at the St. James Theatre in AMERICAN IDIOT. Armstrong will perform through Sunday, October 3, 2010. Immediately following this engagement, Mr. Armstrong will join Green Day in Caracas, Venezuela on October 8, 2010 to kick off their South American Tour. Last night, July 25, the cast of American Idiot took the stage at Joe's Pub to benefit Broadway Impact and their continued efforts to fight for marriage equality. The monthly concert features cast members from various Broadway shows, highlighting the show's performers and the theatre community's commitment to equality. The first sold out show featured the cast of Next to Normal and on August 23rd the cast of Memphis will take the stage for the final installment. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Broadway Impact. Last week on April 20, 2010, Actor's Equity's David Westphal hosted the famed Gypsy Robe Ceremony for company members of AMERICAN IDIOT at the St. James Theatre. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES chorus member Dale Hensley turned over the robe to AMERICAN IDIOT cast member Andrew Call. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced last week that it will extend the show due to record-breaking sales and unprecedented demand for seats. Originally scheduled to close on October 11, this hotly anticipated world premiere has been extended three weeks and will now play through Sunday, November 1.
