It was the music of something beginning... Ragtime, the landmark Broadway musical, will play the Charing Cross Theatre (The Arches, Villiers Street), in London's West End, beginning October 8th and run through December 10th in a strictly limited engagement. Opening night is set for October 17th.

Magic shows. These two little words spark so many different thoughts, feelings and opinions from people. Some view them as a complete farce and waste of time, while others are completely fascinated by the sleight of hand, the disillusionment and the mystery behind it all. I happen to be the latter type of person and have seen my fair share of magic shows, so I really wasn't expecting to see anything new or daring in this particular show. Boy, was I wrong! In THE ILLUSIONISTS the seven different type of magicians promise they will "notice, observe, deduce" in a way never seen before, and they absolutely do not disappoint.

Ragtime On Ellis Island just announced that Tony Award winner and Original Broadway cast member Brian Stokes Mitchell (Shuffle Along, Man of La Mancha) and acclaimed stage and television star Andy Mientus (Spring Awakening, Les Miserables) have joined the lineup of the highly anticipated site-specific developmental concert on Monday, August 8. The all-star cast, directed by Sammi Cannold (Violet on a moving bus at A.R.T; Assistant Director for Diane Paulus & Rachel Chavkin), will perform a selection of songs from the Tony Award-winning musical that features music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and a book by Terrence McNally. The concert is being presented by Suzanne Friedman with an eye towards an immersive, full production of the acclaimed American musical on Ellis Island in 2017.
