BHC Press invites writers of Young Adult (YA) fiction to submit their realistic teen fiction short stories for its upcoming On the Edge of Tomorrow YA anthology collection. Writers should submit stories that deal with real teen issues of today. Reach down deep, and pull out raw, complicated, and messy tales of life. Stories should provide insights into teen issues. Shallow or deep, selfish or loving, create characters with real flaws that give readers a reason to love or despise them. Whatever angst fuels your creative fires, BHC Press wants to read about it. All short stories should be a minimum of 1,500 words and a maximum of 7,500 words. Critically acclaimed YA authors Sara Daniell and Tracy Hewitt Meyer are editing the anthology collection. Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces the cast and creative team for Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet, a 75-minute abridgment of William Shakespeare's classic tale of true love found-and tragically lost. Adapted and directed by Marti Lyons and featuring a dynamic ensemble cast, the production speaks to today's young people about their own lives. In addition to public performances on Saturdays, this production welcomes 1,000 students each day during its five-week run in the Courtyard Theater, followed by an extensive tour to schools across the region through April 28, 2017. Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet will be performed for the public Saturdays at 11:00 a.m., February 25-March 25, 2017.
