The Broadway production of Ragtime was a glorious accomplishment, a riveting testament to the original American musical and to all that America itself could be. The show ran for 834 performances at the Ford Center, closing in the final year of the 20th century. It was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, taking home four.

A Noise Within will present George Orwell’s savage satire, Animal Farm, directed by ANW co-artistic director Julia Rodriguez-Elliott. The acclaimed stage adaptation opens A Noise Within’s 2022-23 season on September 3. Performances continue through October 2, with previews beginning August 28.

PEAK Performances at Montclair State University will welcome back Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane Company for the world premiere of Curriculum II, a timely new work conceived and directed by the iconic, Tony-winning, and currently-Tony-nominated Bill T. Jones and choreographed by Jones with Janet Wong and the Company. 

This internationally acclaimed performance event - already performed over 40 times in six countries, and featuring more than 400 participants, many of whom have never been on stage before - is coming to Stanley Arts in South Norwood in London on Sunday, March 27 at  6pm.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 40 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2020 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. LUMBERYARD Center for Film and Performing Arts joins forces with New York Live Arts (Live Arts) to present the world premiere of Kathy Westwater's Rambler, Worlds Worlds A Part, February 14-16, 2019, having commissioned the work by selecting Westwater as the recipient of LUMBERYARD's 2017 Solange MacArthur Award for New Choreography. In Rambler, Worlds Worlds A Part, Westwater, whom The New Yorker has called "an unconventional choreographer now experiencing a surge of recognition," extends her 20-plus-year exploration of pain and the body, including the pain of others. While contemplating if it is possible to fully communicate the experience of one's own pain-and its opposite, bliss-or to fully know another's, the cast of dancers, including Westwater herself, responds to and celebrates the profound music of post-minimalist composer Julius Eastman.

Edward R. Matthews, CEO of ADAPT Community Network, announced its 2019 ADAPT Leadership Awards Gala to take place on Thursday, March 14th, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The event will be hosted by Cara Buono, co‐star of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, and Emmy‐ nominee for her role on Mad Men. The awards honor the accomplishments of extraordinary individuals and corporations who have made an impact on people with disabilities and have inspired others through their professional and charitable endeavors. The Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) are pleased to announce programming for the third annual Tilt Kids Festival, featuring six premieres of whimsical, thoughtful, and rigorously made works for children across six venues throughout New York City, March 3-18. The true selling point of this production is not so much a reimmersion in Orwell's masterpiece as a reminder, if we needed reminding, of the collective nausea that overtakes us in one of those periodic moments when totalitarian assaults on truth, justice and human dignity are winning.
