DIETRICH, written by Willard Manus, starring Cindy Marinangel, Chicago Second City Conservatory graduate, directed by Glenda Morgan Brown and produced by Sea Angel Productions., LLC is based on a true story. Set in May 1960, the play takes place when the actress returned to the Berlin stage for the first time since fleeing the Hitler regime in the 1930’s. Inside her dressing room at the Tatania-Palast Theater, Dietrich weighs whether to go through with the live performance despite threats on her life by Nazi sympathizers who resented her for having spent much of World War II entertaining American soldiers on the front lines. Review: CONEY ISLAND CHRISTMAS at DreamWrights
by Sandra Harberger - Dec 7, 2024

Iris Lewin portrayal of the older Shirley Abramowitz was sweet with moments of humor. Eva Jarret played the younger Shirley, and she brought her “Loudest Voice” to the role. Her parents were played by Zachary Claghorn and Isabell Amadio with authentic Jewish accents and mannerisms. Isabell Amadio nailed her performance of the strict Jewish mother. The best part of any holiday show is always the children! Their exuberance and honest portrayal of the children they are made me chuckle many times.

Review: ONE PROVIDENCE PLACE: A MALL MUSICAL at AS 220
by John McDaid - Sep 20, 2024

It was only a matter of time before someone put the story of that secret apartment on stage. You know the one, from back in the aughts, when a group of local artists built a hidden room in the Providence Place Mall and lived in it for four years. Well, another local arts collective, The Harpies, have written an interesting musical which takes that apartment as the core, and builds a story around it.
