Lifeline Theatre welcomes Ilesa Duncan as artistic director beginning January 2019. Reporting directly to Lifeline's Board of Directors and working in partnership with Managing Director Allison Cain, Duncan will be responsible for stewarding the vision of the artistic ensemble, engaging and inspiring Lifeline's extended family, seeking out meaningful collaborative opportunities and upholding the mission of the organization. Duncan succeeds Dorothy Milne, who has served as artistic director since 1999 and will continue in the role until Duncan's duties commence in January 2019. Duncan joins the Lifeline artistic ensemble immediately and Milne will continue as a member of the artistic body following her departure from her artistic director role. Meanwhile, Lifeline's 2018-19 season will open with the world premiere MainStage production of Frankenstein (running September 7-October 8) and the KidSeries production of Bunnicula (running October 20-November 25).

The inspiring story of the first actresses of England and their determination to transform all of the theatre world. The production makes its Austin premiere, directed by guest artist Lindsay McKenna, and running July 13 - August 5.

Tony Award-winning Broadway and television star Sutton Foster will headline Westport Country Playhouse's 2018 Gala on Saturday evening, September 8, performing Broadway standards with a trio of musicians. "Sutton effectively stops whatever Broadway show she's in with her amazing combination of talents in dance, song, and a wicked sense of humor," said Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director. PATH New Music Theater, the upstart artist collective of composers, musicians, choreographers, and visual artists, proudly announces their debut work for the stage, Simulacrum, co-presented by the 3LD Art & Technology Center on June 8th, 9th, and 10th. A radically ambitious combination of opera, dance, and stunning visual technology, the work combines music of the five composers of PATH and one guest composer with three singers, six dancers, vivid projections, and interactive wearable technology. Based on the captivating Marianna Staroselsky original play Loved for Parts, the opera examines the fraught relationship between man and machine.

The 72nd Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 10th at 8/9c hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles. Pioneer Theatre Company presents the musical hit Mamma Mia! to close its 2017-2018 season, running Friday, May 11 through Saturday, May 26, 2018.  The New York Times said Mamma Mia! 'creates the beguiling illusion that you could jump onstage and start singing and fit right in.'

Fathom Events, BY Experience and National Theatre Live have a full line-up of top London stage productions set for U.S. cinema audiences in early 2018. Newly added titles include director Nicholas Hytner's Bridge Theatre production of 'Julius Caesar' (March 22) and Rory Kinnear's return to the National Theatre stage as the title role in 'Macbeth' (May 17). These two titles are in addition to Tennessee Williams' 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' (February 22), captured live from London's West End, and the fastest-selling show in London theatre history -- and most-watched NT Live broadcast -- 'Hamlet' (March 8).

It was announced today that the hilarious new Broadway musical comedy THE PROM will star Tony Award Nominee Brooks Ashmanskas (Something Rotten!), Tony Award Winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), two-time Tony Award Nominee Christopher Sieber (Shrek the Musical), Caitlin Kinnunen (Bridges of Madison County), Isabelle McCalla (Aladdin), Michael Potts (Jitney), Angie Schworer (The Producers), Courtenay Collins (Broadway Debut) and Josh Lamon (Groundhog Day) and will officially open on Broadway on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at a Shubert theater to be announced.

The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for The Muny's 2018 centennial season, which opens on June 11 with the first production in the world of Jerome Robbins' Broadway since it's Tony - award winning Broadway and national tour productions.
