Today in 2003, Wicked opened at the Gershwin Theatre, where it is still running. Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone. The show celebrated its tenth anniversary on Broadway last year, and a slew of Wicked alumni attended the special event. The National Touring Company of WICKED will host THE WICKED ROCKY HORROR SHOW, a staged concert performance of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show, at the Tommy Wind Theatre, 3765 Las Vegas Blvd. South on Monday, October 27, at 8:00 p.m. The event will feature the company of WICKED, and net proceeds will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Las Vegas' Golden Rainbow.
