Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's bold vision - top global choreographers, distinctive groundbreaking repertoire, and virtuoso dancers - has fostered a jewel of a dance company in the American West.  Now, ASFB celebrates the fourth year of its residency at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) with a program of works that celebrates the company's commitment to creating new contemporary dance on Saturday, January 19 at 8:00pm. ASFB will perform Tuplet by Alexander Ekman, Dream Play by Fernando Melo, and 1st Flash from world-renowned Finnish choreographer Jorma Elo.

Moderated by Jonathan T. D. Neil, PhD, Director of Sotheby's Institute of Art - Los Angeles, the artists will speak to their ideas, actions and agency in visual and performance art on the subjects of radical protest and resistance, gender and sex, abuses of power, freedom and incarceration, truth, community, identity and pushing the limits at an unprecedented moment of political and social upheaval.

Arts Centre Melbourne is inviting music-lovers to rock out at Hamer Hall as part of a massive, free community concert featuring Aussie music icons in March 2019. Those Who Rock, a participatory arts project led by internationally-acclaimed artist Joseph Farrell (JOF), invites members of the community of all skill levels and ages to grab a guitar and join free community rehearsals across Melbourne in February. The project will culminate in a huge concert featuring hundreds of guitarists and some of Australia's beloved rock heroes at Arts Centre Melbourne's Hamer Hall on March 24, 2019.

UK Tour Of Ian Rankin And Rona Munro's REBUS LONG SHADOWS Extends Into 2019

Daniel Schumann, Lee Dean and Cambridge Arts Theatre in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre today announce an extension to the successful UK tour of Rebus: Long Shadows due to public demand. The production written exclusively for the stage by author of the original novels, Ian Rankin and playwright Rona Munro toured from September to November 2018, and in 2019 will tour to a further five cities - Glasgow from 29 January, then visiting Cardiff, Cambridge and Newcastle, before completing its run in Bath on 9 March.

The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) explores the sound of the pipa alongside familiar European repertoire with works of Mozart and Dvo?ak. These works for strings by master composers are followed by a traditional Chinese tune arranged by COP's own Dirk Brosse. The Pipa is showcased alongside the Chamber Orchestra's sound in Lou Harrison's Concerto for Pipa with String Orchestra. Wu Man will also first introduce us to the instrument by playing a solo piece for the Pipa in the intimate setting of the Perelman Theater.
