Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce dates and casting for the New York premiere of Ngozi Anyanwu's GOOD GRIEF, directed by Awoye Timpo. Performances will begin at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) Thursday, October 11 with opening night set for Tuesday, October 30th.

Philadelphia's only permanent outdoor flying trapeze school will offer two-hour outdoor flying trapeze lessons at Circus Campus, 6452 Greene Street in West Mt. Airy - conveniently directly next to the Upsal SEPTA Station. The first lessons take flight this weekend as a preview, with the official grand opening set for Today, August 16, 2018 at 10:30am. King of Cuba, a new comedy by award-winning writer Cristina Garcia, has extended through August 26th at the historic Berkeley City Club (originally scheduled to close August 19). In King of Cuba, two aging Cubanos hilariously have a go at each other. Opening night Marga was described as 'dethroning machismo,' while the house erupted as El Comandante (Marga Gomez) remarked "Nobody has bigger cojones than I do." The night then roiled with laughter as the two silver haired Cubanos 'knock each other down' verbally and otherwise.

Vineyard Theatre and Developing Artists will partner again to present Developing Artists' REBEL VERSES Youth Arts Festival, Thursday through Saturday August 9-18 at Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th St.). LOVELOUD Festival Powered By AT&T reached its goal of raising $1,000,000 Saturday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, UT.  This year the LOVELOUD Foundation is donating its proceeds from the festival to LGBTQ+ organizations including Encircle, the Tegan and Sara Foundation and the Trevor Project.  The SOLD-OUT festival saw people coming from all corners of country, and Lt. NewArts presents Newsies, the Tony Award-winning Broadway phenomenon, August 3 -12 at Masuk High School in Monroe, CT. The musical is based on the historical newsboy strike of 1899 that shook the ivory towers of William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer. The history lesson leaps onto the stage with soul-stirring music, amazing heart, and stunning choreography and stars over 120 area youth onstage, backstage and in the orchestra.

Broadway by the Bay struts their way into August with the disco dancing, finger pointing, hip-swerving hit Broadway musical, Saturday Night Fever. Based on the 1976 New York Magazine article "Tribal Rights of the New Saturday Night" and one of the most popular movie musicals of all time, this all new stage production will feature over a dozen classic songs by the Grammy Award-winning group the Bee-Gees, dazzling choreography, and the iconic fashion looks of the 70s disco era.

On September 28, Reprise Records will release An American Treasure—a career-spanning Tom Petty box set. The 60-track set unveils dozens of previously unreleased recordings, alternate versions of classic songs, rarities, historic live performances and deep tracks that spotlight Tom's remarkable depth and evolution as a revered and tremendously influential songwriter, recording artist and performer. An American Treasure marks the first release of Tom Petty music since the artist's tragic passing in October 2017.

The Ojai Playwrights Conference (OPC), one of the nation's most acclaimed new play development programs, announces its 21st season with another inspirational and though-provoking program featuring playwrights, new play workshop presentations, and special performance events from August 5 through 12, 2018 in Ojai, California.

Deeply Rooted Dance Theater (DRDT) conducts its 20th annual Summer Intensive, themed "Looking to the Youth," for 80+ national and international students from ages seven to 70 June 25-July 21 at its home studio, 17 N. State Street in downtown Chicago, along with offerings at the Bartlett Center, 5841 S. Maryland Ave. on the University of Chicago campus, and Palmer Park, 201 E. 111th Street, Chicago, in partnership with the Chicago Park District.
