The Las Vegas Philharmonic presents the critically acclaimed horror film, Psycho, on the big screen while the orchestra performs the musical score live on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 7:30 pm in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. This will be the Philharmonic's first of four Pops concerts during its 20th anniversary season. Dr. Jonathan Rhodes Lee, Professor of Music at UNLV, will host a pre-concert conversation in Reynolds Hall one hour prior to the performance (6:30 PM) for patrons interested in learning more about the music behind Alfred Hitchcock's classic horror film. Patrons are encouraged to dress to kill as their favorite Hitchcock character and arrive early for devilish treats and entertainment provided by Red Rock Winds, a woodwind quintet from UNLV's School of Music.

Last year, the four members of the Cranberries – Dolores O'Riordan, Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan, and Fergal Lawler – came together to plan a 25 th Anniversary box set release for their debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?, one of the definitive indie albums of all time. Following Dolores' untimely death in January this year, the remaining band members have decided to go ahead with the album's expanded 25 th Anniversary Edition box set, which is set for global release on October 19 by Island/UMe in 4CD and digital audio formats. On the same date, a 2CD Deluxe package pairing the remastered album with session outtakes, B-sides, the band's debut EP, and early demos will be released, as well as digital and vinyl editions of the remastered album, including a 180-gram black LP and a limited edition color LP.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk, World of Tanks has partnered with HISTORY to recreate portions of one of the greatest tank battles in history using augmented reality. Richard Cutland, Wargaming's Head of Military Relations, will narrate the “The Tanks of Kursk” in a series of videos where viewers can watch German and Soviet tanks refight the battle in tabletop volumetric augmented reality, using the World of Tanks game engine. World of Tanks is a free-to-play online game, and a virtual museum in which players can explore exacting recreations of all of the tanks of WW2.

Born in Port Arthur, TX in 1943, Janis Lyn Joplin challenged racial and sexual stereotypes and created a sound and a style that has become legendary. She exploded onto the music scene in 1967 and, almost overnight, became the queen of rock and roll. The unmistakable voice, filled with raw emotion and tinged with more than a touch of Southern Comfort made her a must-see headliner from Monterey to Woodstock Her unique sound, however, was originally created as a result of her love for some of the greatest African-American singers of all time. Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. National Sawdust, the artist-led nonprofit incubator and venue, announces June 2018 as Hildegard Month at the Williamsburg space that serves as a dynamic home for artists and new music of all kinds. Named for the influential medieval composer Hildegard von Bingen and celebrating the contribution of women and gender non-binary artists to music of all genres, including contemporary classical music, the Hildegard Month festivities center around the June 12 concert featuring premieres from Hildegard Competition winners Emma O'Halloran, X. The American Sephardi Federation's NY Sephardic Jewish Film Festival showcases contemporary voices steeped in the history, traditions, and rich mosaic culture of Greater Sephardic communities. The ten-day Festival features premiere film screenings, intriguing stories, evocative documentaries, Q&As with filmmakers, as well as special honorees and guests. The Pomegranate Awards Ceremony on Opening Night celebrates Sephardi excellence in the arts. Past recipients include Senior Counselor to the King of Morocco Andre Azoulay, French-Algerian recording legend Enrico Macias, Kuwaiti star and human rights activist Ema Shah, and Morocco-Israeli poet Erez Bitton.

The 2018 Boston Pops spring season, May 9-June 16, under the direction of Keith Lockhart, will celebrate the centennial of Leonard Bernstein, one of the greatest international musical figures of the last century-an iconic American musician whose multidimensional talents spanning the worlds of composition, performance, education and conducting greatly influenced the culture at large throughout the mid- and late-20th century, resulting in a legacy that is sure to inspire music lovers far and wide for countless generations to come. The Boston Pops has an especially proud association with Leonard Bernstein, as he made his professional orchestra conducting debut leading the ensemble during a performance in the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade in 1941, on the cusp of establishing himself as one of the foremost musicians the country had ever seen.

The Joust Theatre Company is thrilled to introduce The Writer's Round Table, a new developmental writers' group comprised of four carefully selected playwrights whose work challenges and/or reimagines systemic norms. These four playwrights will join us in a 9-month developmental process to exchange ideas and develop their plays which will culminate in each play receiving two public workshop performances, presented in repertory in the Spring and Fall of 2018.
