While the large majority of plays that make it to Broadway were written in English, a small fraction of plays were originally penned in a different language and translated. 

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been taped at the Ed Sullivan Theatre located on Broadway between 53rd and 54th Streets since it began in 2015. Sarasota Opera has announced the lineup for the 2023 Summer Classic Movies at the Opera House. The Classic Movies at the Opera House series featuring many beloved movies will open on Friday, May 12th at 7:30 pm with 2001: A Space Odyssey. Throughout the summer and into the fall, featured movies will include films ranging from the 1930's to the 1990's. Tickets will be $12 and will go on sale starting on Wednesday, May 3. August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle, also known as the American Century Cycle, is made up of ten plays, written between 1982 and 2005. It has been reported that Jane Powell, star of numerous Golden Age Hollywood musicals, passed away this afternoon at her home in Wilton, CT. She was 92 years old.

The Seattle National Guard Armory opened on this date in 1939, making this the 80th anniversary of the building's opening.
