MAMMA MIA! Begins This August at Broadway At Music Circus

The 2018 season continues with the Broadway At Music Circus premiere of the mega-hit musical comedy Mamma Mia!, which has been seen by millions of people worldwide and launched two enormously popular movies. The plot involves a woman who, on the eve of her wedding, attempts to discover the identity of her father by bringing three men from her mother's past back to an island paradise. Featuring more than 20 hit songs by pop super-group ABBA, including "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance on Me," "The Name of the Game" and "The Winner Takes It All," this high-spirited, feel-good international sensation has audiences singing and dancing in the aisles. Performances of Mamma Mia! are Tuesday, August 7 through Sunday, August 12 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. Ticket availability for the show is extremely limited due to high demand. (more...)

Moonlight Stage Productions presents THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, the epic musical retelling of Victor Hugo's novel about love, passion, and hope. Longtime Theatre Professor Directs Senior Citizens in A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD

Gettysburg Community Theatre (GCT) the not-for-profit 501c3 community theatre located at 49 York Street in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present a musical perfect for the whole family, A Year With Frog And Toad, based on the children's books by Arnold Lobel. The performances will be 8pm Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm Sundays August 10-26, 2018 and tickets are available online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or by calling 717-334-2692. Tickets can be purchased at the door if there are seats available. A Year With Frog And Toad is GCT's All-Senior Citizen Cast production for 2018. Each actor is retired or semi-retired ages 55+ and enjoys rehearsing during the day, which then allows the theatre to be available for other rehearsals in the evening of working adults and school children. Past Senior Citizen productions at GCT have been Fiddler On The Roof, Once Upon A Mattress, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Nunsense. This production is made possible in part by grants from the Cultural Alliance of York County, The Robert C. Texas State Launches Scholarship Fund to Honor the Late Trent Armand Kendall

Damsel Productions Announce London Tour Dates And Workshop Programme For Abi Zakarian's FABRIC

Damsel Productions today announces the London tour dates for Abi Zakarian's Fabric, a new production in support of Solace Women's Aid. Following a run at Soho Theatre, the production tours to non-traditional theatre spaces - Hammersmith Town Hall, Kingsgate Community Centre, Goodinge Community Centre and Draper Hall, located in four boroughs identified by Solace Women's Aid as target areas. Directed by Hannah Hauer-King and starring Nancy Sullivan as Leah, Fabric opens at Soho Theatre on 13 September, with previews from 11 September, and closes on 22 September before touring from 24 September to 6 October. BPA Seeks Cast For THE WIZARD OF OZ

Dorothy thinks she is lost forever when a terrifying tornado crashes through Kansas and whisks her and her dog, Toto, far away to the magical land of Oz. To get home Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City and find the wonderfully mysterious Wizard of Oz. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Completes The Broadway At Music Circus Season

The final show in the critically acclaimed 2018 Broadway At Music Circus season is the series premiere of the hit musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors, which features a cast of Broadway veterans and is based on the campy 1960s cult horror film. The show's music, by master composer Alan Menken (Disney's Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Newsies, Aladdin), is in the style of 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, and includes several well-known tunes such as "Suddenly Seymour," "Somewhere That's Green" and the title song. The plot follows nerdy floral shop worker Seymour, who would do or give anything to gain the love of his co-worker Audrey. The depth of his desire is tested when a strange and menacing addition to his floral shop brings him sudden and unexpected popularity. Performances of Little Shop of Horrors are Tuesday, August 21 through Sunday, August 26 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. (more...)

The Growing Stage Announces Auditions for THE WIZARD OF OZ

The Growing Stage, The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong, New Jersey will be holding auditions for its musical production of the Royal Shakespeare's The Wizard of Oz Monday, August 27 at 7:00 PM for adults and Tuesday, August 28 for young people ten to 17. The production is under the direction of Stephen L. Fredericks, the Growing Stage's Executive Director, with musical direction by Stephen Fox and choreography by Jillian Petrie.  The call is open and will run from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.  The production has four AEA roles available with all other parts available to community artists. All auditioning should have a song prepared with printed accompaniment that should be no longer than sixteen measures and reading from the script. (more...)
