The New Group has announced full casting for Hamish Linklater's The Whirligig, with Noah Bean, Jon DeVries, Alex Hurt, Jonny Orsini and Grace Van Patten, and as previously announced, Norbert Leo Butz, Zosia Mamet and Maura Tierney, set to appear in this world premiere directed by Scott Elliott.

For its first attempt at creating a plot-driven Cirque, Soleil mostly succeeds. But believe the promoters when they tell you the acrobatics support the story, rather than vice versa. It's true. "Toruk" has all the creativity of other Cirque du Soleil shows, but as a whole it comes across as something closer to the typical arena performance - "Batman Live" and "How to Train Your Dragon" to name a few - only it's far more spectacular.

Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux, the show began performances on Tuesday, November 4 and was originally extended through Sunday, November 20. It will now run through Thursday, December 1, with an official press opening Sunday, October 23.
