The Tony Award-winning Drama Book Shop is honored to welcome stage and screen legend Joel Grey on Monday, April 25th at 5:00pm. The actor will discuss his newly released memoir Master of Ceremonies with Drama Book Shop Events Manager Steven Carl McCasland, including a Q&A with the audience. The event, in the Arthur Seelen Theatre downstairs, will be followed by signing on the main floor of the shop. Admission is free to the public, but those who have purchased Mr. Grey's book directly from The Drama Book Shop will be given first priority admission. You cannot beat the Old Globe Theatre for its audacity in mounting the challenging musical Rain, based on a short story by W. Somerset Maugham. Rain was made into three separate films, a silent in 1928 starring Gloria Swanson, and then in 1932 starring Joan Crawford as Miss Sadie Thompson, and finally in 1953 Rita Hayworth assumed the role of the prostitute stranded on the South Pacific Island of Pago, Pago in 1924. This much anticipated musical version with book by Sybille Pearson and music by Michael John LaChiusa is the second time Rain has been performed onstage, the first being a play in 1922. For the entire cast and creative team in San Diego this enterprise has been enormous. It is truly an outstanding ensemble headed by Eden Espinosa as Sadie, and the set designed by Mark Wendland is by itself worth the price of admission.

You know Joel Grey from his countless performances in such beloved Broadway shows as Cabaret, Chicago, George M, and Wicked, and at the ripe age of 83, he has another trick up his sleeve. On February 16, Flatiron Books releases his memoir- 'Master of Ceremonies.' Below, watch as Richard Ridge visits Grey in his New York City home to chat about the book and some of the highlights of his spectacular career on the stage.

Commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, Horniman's Choice brings together four plays by the leading figures of the 'Manchester School' of playwrights - Harold Brighouse, Stanley Houghton and Allan Monkhouse, all originally championed by Annie Horniman, owner of Gaiety Theatre, Manchester, the first regional repertory theatre in Britain. Horniman's Choice runs at the Finborough Theatre, playing Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 27 September 2015 (Press Night: Monday, 28 September 2015 at 7.30pm).

Building on the successes of Made in Northampton 2014, Royal & Derngate's Artistic Director James Dacre today announced details of his second season: Made in Northampton 2015. Introducing the season, Dacre said: "Our Made in Northampton 2015 season aims to reflect the energy and range synonymous with Royal & Derngate, staging classic stories in imaginative new ways and premiering stories that need to be told today. This new season of epic plays looks back to the 12th Century Northampton of King John and forward to Aldous Huxley's Brave New World of 2540. In the company of some of our largest ever casts, audiences will enter the Elizabethan garden of Peter Whelan's The Herbal Bed, the Brooklyn waterfront of Arthur Miller's The Hook, the terrifying Victorian world of Patrick Hamilton's Gaslight, the frozen land of Georgia Pritchett's The Snow Queen and the Parisian streets of Cyrano De Bergerac. But wherever and whenever these plays are set, they have been chosen or commissioned because I believe that each reflects and considers an experience of life in Britain today."

Marina Carr's play Woman and Scarecrow is a perfect embodiment of the bittersweet humor and comical tragedy that pervades the plays of the Irish, much like PICT's production Waiting for Godot that closed June 21. Alan Stanford will direct this third play in PICT's season, which he selected "because of its delicate investigation of the one event in our lives that we all share. The leaving of it."

The art of the dance movie poster is celebrated at Jacob's Pillow this summer with GOTTA DANCE!, an extraordinary exhibit of vintage posters from throughout the world. The posters, which feature stars such as Gene Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Cyd Charisse, Eleanor Powell, and Astaire & Rogers, were selected from the personal collection of one of the genre's foremost experts, award-winning campaign designer and producer Mike Kaplan. Just a few months ago, Michael Riedel reported that Bette Midler has been approached for a revival, for which she seemingly passed, telling interviewers that she didn't see herself wanting to carry an entire musical for 8 shows a week. Now, it might be Kristin Chenoweth's turn. Riedel wrote that 'Kristin Chenoweth has said she'd love to play Dolly Levi in 'Hello, Dolly!' in about 10 years. But her wish may come true a lot sooner. I hear she's in discussions to star in a multimillion-dollar Broadway revival within the next two years.' He goes on to note that lined up as director and choreographer is Warren Carlyle (Cotton Club Parade, A Christmas Story, Chaplin, Follies & More.)

Florida Grand Opera has announced the productions for the 2011-2012 season, which will be the Company's 71st consecutive season of producing grand opera in South Florida. The season includes two important 'firsts' for FGO: the first presentation of a zarzuela, Torroba's Luisa Fernanda, and the first production of Puccini's La rondine. The season will also include Verdi's Rigoletto and Gounod's Rom o et Juliette.
