Porchlight Music Theatre has announced the current roster of music theatre and cabaret talent performing in this year’s annual Chicago Sings fundraising concert, Chicago Sings Stephen Sondheim, Monday, May 23, at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

 Skylight Music Theatre today announced the cast and creative team for Raisin, running April 8-24, 2022. Raisin is an uplifting musical adaptation of the award-winning play, A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry. Raisin won the 1974 Tony Award and the 1975 Grammy Award for Best Musical.

The New Jersey Youth Symphony will perform Leonard Berstein's Symphony No. 1 'Jeremiah' for Orchestra and Mezzo-Soprano and the east coast premiere of Marvin Hamlisch's Anatomy of Peace, A Symphonic Suite in One Movement.

The Baryshnikov Arts Center’s Spring 2022 Season will open with the New York City premiere of Open Practice, a virtual performance by high wire artist Philippe Petit. Open Practice is free and available to watch on demand from Monday, February 7, at 5pm ET, until Monday, February 21.

Theatre West's Studio City-adjacent home on Cahuenga Blvd. West, the oldest continuous operating stage space in Los Angeles, has been saved by an anonymous “angel.” A longtime Theatre West patron has purchased the building, occupied by the company since 1967 but up for sale since May, and extended Theatre West's lease for a minimum of five years.

Hope Mill Theatre has announced that this Christmas it will stage the first new UK production of The Wiz: The Super Soul Musical “Wonderful Wizard of Oz” in 10 years. With music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls, book by William F. Brown and original orchestrations by Harold Wheeler, The Wiz is a retelling of L. Frank Baum's classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
