The sun will come out tomorrow. That's because after over a year of waiting, New York officials have at last spread word that Broadway is indeed back. Which shows will return when? BroadwayWorld has gathered all of the latest news on the return of live theatre. Check back regularly for updates!

Berkshire Theatre Group has announced immersive outdoor experiences for summer 2021, with a casting sneak-peek. BTG will be releasing a complete season cast announcement at a later date. Berkshire Theatre Group will work in adherence with government guidelines and corresponding health and safety officials.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

Dallas Summer Musicals, in partnership with Broadway Across America, today announced the revised lineup of Broadway shows coming to Dallas in its next season, including the performance dates for the return engagement of HAMILTON, November 16 - December 5, 2021.

Celtic Lion Productions  present a rare revival of LOOK BACK IN ANGER, John Osborne's searing portrayal of the savagery of the human heart. Called the 'most vivid play of the decade' by the New York Times, the influence of Osborne's 1956 masterwork on generations of playwrights cannot be underestimated. It is directed by Aimée Fortier at The Gene Frankel Theatre where it runs through February 29..

It will be directed by Aimée Fortier who aims to highlight female characters that usually get downplayed and her youthful, age appropriate cast. Previews begin February 13 at The Gene Frankel Theatre. Opening is slated for Saturday, February 15.

The GRAMMY AWARDS Premiere Ceremony took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 26, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. PT. Preceding the 62nd Annual GRAMMY AWARDS telecast, the Premiere Ceremony was hosted by two-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee Imogen Heap and featured a number of performances by current GRAMMY nominees. Musical legends Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox / Dave Stewart p/k/a Eurythmics, Ernie Isley / Marvin Isley / O'Kelly Isley / Ronald Isley / Rudolph Isley / Chris Jasper p/k/a The Isley Brothers, Steve Miller, Chad Hugo / Pharrell Williams p/k/a The Neptunes, Rick Nowels and William “Mickey” Stevenson will become the latest inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame at the organization's 51st Annual Induction and Awards Dinner. These legendary songwriters wrote mega-hits such as, 'Vision of Love,”  “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” “Shout,” “The Joker,” “Hollaback Girl,” “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” and “Dancing In The Street.” The star-studded induction event is slated for Thursday, June 11th at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Additional special award honorees will be announced soon.

Recording Academy® President/CEO Deborah Dugan alongside Academy Chair of the Board of Trustees and renowned record producer Harvey Mason Jr., as well as GRAMMY Awards® host Alicia Keys and past two-time GRAMMY® nominee Bebe Rexha, today revealed nominees for the 62nd GRAMMY Awards in select categories. Leading nominees Lizzo (8), Billie Eilish (6) and Lil Nas X (6) not only topped the charts but ignited a cultural conversation around their genre-bending hits. The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. Theatre of Young Audiences/USA (?TYA/USA?)?, the national service organization supporting, connecting, and advocating for the field of theatre for young audiences, will present the ?2019 National TYA/USA Awards? in three categories: ?Stan Foote ?and? Rosemary Newcott? will receive the ?Harold Oaks Award for Sustained Excellence in TYA?; ?Chicago Children's Theatre? (Jacqueline Russell, Artistic Director) will receive the ?TYA Artistic Innovation Award?; and ?Courtney J. Boddie ?will receive the ?TYA Community Impact Award?.

The Bucks County Playhouse has announced titles and creative teams for the theater's 80th anniversary season, which will launch May 17.

As Scotland's new writing theatre, the Traverse has been an incubator for brand new plays since it was founded in 1963, spotlighting the powerful stories, innovation and talent in Scotland, while launching the careers of many renowned writers, actors and directors. They have now revealed that their January-April 2019 season is a celebration of this - with three home-grown productions returning for a special run, before travelling worldwide.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma is pleased to announce the five new schools that have been selected to participate in the 2018-19 Disney Musicals in Schools program. The program is an initiative developed by Disney Theatrical Productions to create sustainable theater programs in under-resourced elementary schools. The five schools are a part of  Oklahoma City Public Schools. The five schools include: Adelaide Lee, Hawthorne, John Rex, Pierce, and Willow Brook elementaries.

Tony award-winner, Elizabeth Ashley ("Take Her She's Mine") and Tony nominee Tom Hewitt ("The Rocky Horror Show") will headline a refreshed production of Paul Rudnick's witty, laugh out loud comedy, "I Hate Hamlet" at Bucks County Playhouse, November 9 - December 1. The play marks Ashley's return to the Playhouse after co-starring opposite Robert Redford in the pre-Broadway production of Neil Simon's "Barefoot in the Park."

Award-winning actor, writer, director, producer, polymath and advocate for science communication Alan Alda has been named the 55th recipient of SAG-AFTRA's highest tribute: the SAG Life Achievement Award for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment. Alda will be presented the performers union's top accolade at the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®, which will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at 8 p.m. (ET)/ 5 p.m. (PT).

Full casting has been announced for Caroline, Or Change, the celebrated musical written by Tony Kushner, author of Angels in America, with a soaring score from Tony Award-winning Jeanine Tesori, which will run at the West End's Playhouse Theatre from 20 November 2018 to 9 February 2019.

Now entering its 56th season, the New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) is launching a Musical Theater Composition (MTC) program, to be led by newly-appointed director Anna K. Jacobs. In a partnership with the Harlem School of the Arts, this new program aims to diversify the world of musical theater by creating opportunities for young composers to have their compositions workshopped and performed by both peers and professionals.
