The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will bring 'The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later--An Epilogue,' a follow-up of the highly acclaimed 'The Laramie Project' to Lincoln Oct. 12.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Webster University will co-host the St. Louis premiere reading of the epilogue to the acclaimed play The Laramie Project which, since its debut in 2000, has been one of the most performed plays in America.

As previously announced, on October 12, nearly 150 theaters nationwide will stage readings of the epilogue piece to 2000's The Laramie Project, entitled The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, in honor of the 11th anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death. Glenn Close will be hosting a pre-show event to the Lincoln Center performance that will be broadcast to the theaters participating in the event nationwide.

As previously announced, on October 12, nearly 150 theaters nationwide will stage readings of the epilogue piece to 2000's The Laramie Project, entitled The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, in honor of the 11th anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death. Two regional companies that have announced productions include Washington DC's Arena Stage and Who Wants Cake in Michigan.

The coda to the Laramie Project, The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, will premiere at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall on October 12, the anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death on which the play is based. As part of the opening event, stage and screen star Glenn Close will host a pre-show that will be webcast to over 150 theaters nationwide that will also be presenting this sequel piece.

'The Laramie Project is a play with tremendous historical and cultural impact,' said Vali Forrister, producing artistic director of Actors Bridge Ensemble. 'Actors Bridge was pleased to be the first theater company to bring this important work to Nashville back in 2002. And now, to be part of this nationwide unveiling of its epilogue is an honor, but also a reminder to ourselves, our audience and our community that Matthew Shepard's story still reverberates. Unfortunately, many of the issues the murder brought up are unresolved both at a local and national level.'

Asolo Repertory Theatre and theatres around the world will present the simultaneous global premiere of The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later on October 12, 2009, at 8 p.m. This landmark event is free and open to the public, and a national and international interactive online presence.

The guys are gambling, the dolls are dancing, and the audience will come up a winner when Cabrillo Music Theatre launches its 2009-2010 season with Guys and Dolls. Returning is Director Nick DeGruccio, whose previous Cabrillo production of Jekyll & Hyde led to three Ovation Awards, including Best Director. The American Theatre Wing has announced its newest episode of its popular 'Working in the Theater' series, titled 'Fluidity & Change: Directors 2009.' This episode features Thomas Kail (In the Heights), Moisés Kaufman (33 Variations) Bartlett Sher (Joe Turner's Come and Gone), Leigh Silverman (Coraline), and Kate Whoriskey (Ruined).
